Anchorage, Alaska — Arctic Slope Telephone Association Cooperative (ASTAC) today announced that Chief Executive Officer Jens Laipenieks will be departing the organization after 16 years of dedicated service and leadership, 10 of those years spent leading ASTAC as the CEO and General Manager.

During his tenure, Laipenieks played a key role in advancing ASTAC’s mission to deliver reliable, high-quality telecommunications services to the communities it serves. His leadership helped guide the cooperative through significant growth and innovation, strengthening connectivity across the North Slope and beyond.

“Jens has been a committed and valued leader for ASTAC,” said Marietta Aiken, President of the ASTAC Board of Directors. “We are grateful for his years of service and the lasting impact he has made on our organization, our employees, and the communities we serve. We wish him all the best in his next chapter.”

ASTAC has begun a comprehensive search for a new Chief Executive Officer/General Manager. ASTAC’s Board of Directors, along with their selected partner Vantage Point Solutions, is committed to identifying a leader who will continue to build on ASTAC’s strong foundation and support its long-term vision.
